Dewald Brevis emerged as the clear standout. The young batter played an aggressive but controlled innings, scoring 75 from 50 deliveries as he attempted to keep South Africa within striking distance of the target. Ruben produced an important spell, claiming three wickets while conceding 24 runs. JJ Smit also took three wickets, giving away 31 runs. Their combined impact ensured that South Africa could not build the partnerships required for a successful chase.

Once Brevis was left without sufficient support, Namibia were able to keep tightening the pressure. South Africa continued fighting until the final stages, but the required run rate remained beyond their reach.

To repeat the achievement at Windhoek gives the Namibian side another confidence boost. It also makes the matchup increasingly intriguing, with South Africa still searching for their first T20I victory against Namibia.

For Namibia, this was more than simply an upset victory. Starting a tri-series by defeating South Africa gives the hosts valuable momentum and reinforces their belief that they can compete successfully against higher-profile opponents.

The challenge now will be to maintain the same level of discipline in the matches ahead. Their batting showed enough resilience to post a defendable total, while the bowling attack demonstrated that it can handle pressure during a high-stakes chase.
