Nandu’s World YouTuber Nandana Arrested at Hyderabad Airport Over Alleged Visa Scam

Popular Telugu YouTuber and Nandu’s World channel personality Rama Nandana has been taken into custody by Telangana police at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in connection with allegations of financial fraud involving people seeking jobs and visa opportunities in the United Kingdom.

According to reports, Nandana was detained after arriving in Hyderabad and was subsequently handed over to the Ibrahimpatnam police, who are investigating complaints linked to the alleged financial transactions. A lookout circular had reportedly been issued earlier in connection with the case.

Why was Nandana arrested?

The case revolves around allegations that money was collected from individuals with promises of arranging UK employment opportunities, visas and Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS).

Police complaints have reportedly been filed by people who claim they paid substantial amounts but did not receive the services they were promised. Some complainants have alleged that they paid around ₹15 lakh or more in connection with visa or employment-related arrangements.

One of the complaints was filed by a person from the Ibrahimpatnam area of NTR district. According to the complaint reported earlier, he allegedly paid approximately ₹15 lakh after being assured that his UK visa-related requirements could be handled through a consultancy associated with the family. When the promised outcome did not materialise, he approached the police.

The complaint reportedly named Nandana, her husband Jagarlamudi Madhukar and Madhukar’s father. Police registered a case and began examining the allegations and related transactions.

More people have reportedly come forward

The controversy expanded after other individuals also approached authorities, claiming that they had paid money for UK jobs, visas or CoS-related services.

Reports have cited allegations that individual payments could range from roughly ₹15 lakh to ₹25 lakh, although the exact number of complainants and the total amount involved remain matters for investigation. Some reports have suggested that dozens of people may have been affected.

The allegations are particularly significant because the people involved reportedly approached the family after becoming familiar with them through social media.

Nandu’s World became popular through family-oriented videos and content about life in the UK. The couple built a sizeable online following and subsequently gained wider public recognition, including through entertainment-related appearances.

Alleged connection to UK visa services

At the centre of the complaints is the alleged promise of UK employment and immigration assistance.

A Certificate of Sponsorship is an important part of certain UK work-visa routes, and people looking to move abroad for employment can be particularly vulnerable to misleading promises about sponsorship and jobs.

According to complaints reported by the media, some individuals allegedly believed that Nandana and her husband had access to UK-based employment opportunities and could assist with sponsorship-related requirements. Payments were allegedly made on that understanding.

Police are expected to examine the financial records, communications and documents connected with the complaints to establish what services were promised, whether money was actually received and what happened after the payments were made.

Nandana has denied the allegations

Nandana and her family have previously rejected accusations of cheating.

In statements shared through social media, Nandana reportedly maintained that the allegations against her were false and claimed that certain individuals were deliberately spreading negative information about the family. She has also disputed claims circulating online concerning their business activities and the visa-related controversy.

The family’s position is important because the allegations have not, by themselves, established criminal liability. The claims made by complainants will have to be tested through the police investigation and legal proceedings.

Airport detention brings case back into focus

The latest development came after Nandana returned to India. Reports say authorities were alerted to her arrival because of the lookout circular and took her into custody at the Hyderabad airport. She was subsequently transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ibrahimpatnam police for further proceedings.

Investigators are now expected to look more closely into the complaints already registered, the alleged payments and the documents connected with UK employment and sponsorship.

The investigation could also determine whether the various complaints are connected to one another and whether other individuals were involved in handling or receiving the alleged payments.

For now, the case remains centred on allegations and counterclaims. The arrest represents a significant development in the investigation, but the final facts will depend on the evidence gathered by police and the outcome of the legal process.

The controversy has also highlighted the risks faced by job seekers who pay large sums to individuals promising overseas employment or visa assistance. Authorities generally advise applicants to independently verify employers, recruitment agencies and immigration documentation before making substantial payments.
