The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results of the UGC NET June 2026 examination for 84 subjects. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now access their scorecards online by using their login credentials on the examination website. The agency has also made the final answer keys available for the subjects covered in the results.

The announcement brings an important update for thousands of candidates who appeared for the June session of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test. The examination is conducted for candidates seeking eligibility related to academic and research opportunities, making the release of the results a significant stage in the selection process.

Scorecards Available Online

Candidates whose subjects are included in the current result announcement can check their performance through the UGC NET portal. To view and download the scorecard, applicants need to enter the required login information.

The NTA has clarified that results for 84 subjects have been published at this stage. Along with the results, the final answer keys have also been released, allowing candidates to check the responses considered for evaluation.

Candidates are advised to carefully verify the details shown on their scorecards after downloading them. They should also retain a copy of the result for future academic or professional requirements.

English, Commerce and Sociology Candidates Face Retest

However, the result announcement does not cover candidates who appeared for three particular subjects — English, Commerce and Sociology.

The NTA has cancelled the examinations conducted for these three subjects and has scheduled fresh computer-based tests. According to the information released by the agency, the repeat examinations will be conducted online on September 9 and 10, 2026.

As a result, candidates who took the examination in any of these three subjects will not receive their final scorecards along with the results currently available for the other 84 subjects.

Why Were the Three Exams Cancelled?

The decision to conduct fresh examinations follows issues identified in the question papers used for English, Commerce and Sociology.

According to the NTA's explanation, the question papers contained multiple errors associated with typing and translation. The agency acknowledged the problems and subsequently decided that conducting the examinations again would be necessary.

The cancellation means that affected candidates will have to participate in the newly scheduled examination before their UGC NET results can be processed.

“Invalid Application, Password” Message May Appear

Candidates from English, Commerce and Sociology may encounter an “invalid application, password” message if they attempt to download their scorecards from the current result portal.

The NTA has indicated that this does not mean that their applications have been rejected. Instead, the message is linked to the fact that the examinations for these three subjects are being conducted again.

Their scorecards will become available only after they complete the re-examination and the subsequent evaluation process.

Therefore, candidates from the affected subjects should not assume that the message indicates a problem with their application credentials. They should follow the instructions issued by the examination authority and appear for the fresh test on the announced dates.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Candidates whose subjects are among the 84 subjects for which results have been declared can proceed to download their scorecards and check their results.

Those who appeared for English, Commerce or Sociology should instead prepare for the September re-examination. They should keep checking the official examination updates for information concerning the test schedule and other instructions.

The NTA has also advised candidates who have questions or require clarification to approach its help desk.

The latest development therefore creates two separate groups of UGC NET June 2026 candidates: those who can access their results now and those whose results will follow the re-examination of the three affected subjects.
