Toxic Hindi Box Office: Yash-Starrer Adds Rs 17 Crore on Day 3, Takes Three-Day Total to Rs 87 Crore

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups continued its strong run in the Hindi market on its third day, although the film witnessed another decline in daily collections. According to the figures reported by Pinkvilla, the Hindi version earned approximately Rs 17 crore nett on Day 3, taking its cumulative Hindi box office collection to around Rs 87 crore in three days.

The numbers come at an important point in the film’s theatrical journey. After opening to a massive response, Toxic experienced a noticeable slowdown on its second day. The third-day performance suggests that the movie is now relying heavily on the extended weekend to build momentum and convert its impressive opening into a bigger overall Hindi-market total.

Strong opening, followed by a sharp correction

Toxic arrived in cinemas with considerable expectations, particularly because it marks Yash’s major theatrical release after the enormous success of KGF: Chapter 2. The Hindi version immediately attracted audiences, with the film collecting around Rs 46 crore nett on its opening day, according to early box-office estimates. That performance made it the biggest opening for a non-franchise dubbed film in the Hindi market.

However, the second day brought a substantial correction. The Hindi version collected roughly Rs 19–20 crore, representing a decline of around 60 percent from the opening figure. The two-day Hindi total stood at approximately Rs 70 crore.

Day 3 followed the downward trend, with the film adding about Rs 17 crore. While the drop may appear significant compared with its opening, the overall three-day tally remains substantial because of the strength of the first day.

Three days, nearly Rs 90 crore in Hindi

With approximately Rs 17 crore added on the third day, Toxic has reached the Rs 87 crore nett mark in Hindi within three days. This gives the film a solid foundation heading into the weekend.

The key question now is whether the Yash-starrer can experience a meaningful jump during the following days. Weekend growth is particularly important for a film that has seen its daily collections reduce considerably after its first-day surge.

If the movie manages to attract larger crowds over the weekend, it could strengthen its position in the Hindi market and push its overall theatrical numbers considerably higher.

A major Hindi-market test for Yash

The performance of Toxic in Hindi is being closely watched because Yash has already established himself as one of the most recognisable stars from the South among North Indian audiences. The success of KGF: Chapter 2 played a major role in expanding his nationwide popularity, and expectations surrounding Toxic have consequently been high.

Unlike a direct continuation of the KGF franchise, Toxic is presented as a separate story and carries a different visual and narrative identity. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and features Yash alongside a prominent ensemble cast, including Nayanthara and Kiara Advani.

The film's Hindi performance therefore offers an indication of how much of Yash's post-KGF audience is willing to follow him into a completely different cinematic world.

Weekend collections will determine the trajectory

The first three days have produced a mixed pattern for Toxic in the Hindi belt. The opening was exceptionally strong, but the subsequent sessions have seen substantial reductions. This makes the weekend particularly significant.

A strong Saturday and Sunday could indicate that the film has managed to overcome the initial slowdown and regain momentum. On the other hand, if the collections remain around the Day 3 level or fall further, the film could face a tougher run after the extended opening period.

The broader Indian performance has been much larger than the Hindi figure, with the film crossing significant milestones across languages. Pinkvilla previously reported an India-wide opening of approximately Rs 117 crore, highlighting the scale of the film's initial reception.

What lies ahead for Toxic?

At Rs 87 crore nett in Hindi after three days, Toxic has already built a sizeable opening-weekend base. But the next few days will be crucial in determining whether the movie can maintain a healthy theatrical run beyond the initial release window.

For Yash, the film represents another opportunity to strengthen his position as a pan-India star. For the Hindi market, its performance is equally significant because it could demonstrate whether the audience that embraced KGF will turn up in similar numbers for his newer, non-franchise outing.

The immediate target will now be the weekend. If Toxic records a noticeable rise in occupancy and collections, the current three-day slowdown could prove to be only a temporary correction. If not, the film's impressive opening may remain the defining feature of its Hindi box-office journey.

For now, the numbers stand at approximately Rs 87 crore nett in Hindi after three days, with the weekend expected to provide a clearer picture of the film's long-term box-office prospects.
