Tollywood Stars Retain Hyderabad as Their Voting Base; Rashmika Mandanna’s Voter Registration Is in Mumbai
Hyderabad: Several leading personalities from the Telugu film industry have chosen to retain their voter registration in Hyderabad during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana. The development has drawn attention because many prominent actors, directors and producers reside in the city, particularly in and around Jubilee Hills.
According to the information reported by Sakshi, around 98 percent of film personalities covered by the revision process have submitted their enumeration forms to Booth Level Officers (BLOs). By completing the process, these celebrities have indicated their intention to continue having their names on the Hyderabad electoral rolls.
Several Top Film Personalities Choose Hyderabad
The list of prominent names retaining their voter registration in the city includes several of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars. Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Amala Akkineni, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni are among those reported to have completed the required formalities.
Other major names include Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Prabhas, Jr NTR and Vijay Deverakonda. The list also includes Manchu Lakshmi, Manchu Manoj, filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao, producer Daggubati Suresh Babu, Rana Daggubati and Abhiram Daggubati.
The participation extends beyond actors. Several directors, producers and music personalities have also reportedly submitted their forms, underlining the strong connection between Hyderabad’s entertainment industry and the city’s electoral rolls.
Jubilee Hills Remains a Key Area
A significant number of Tollywood personalities live in Jubilee Hills, which falls within the Khairatabad Assembly constituency. As a result, the electoral revision in this area has particular relevance for the film fraternity.
The Khairatabad constituency also has a notable population of senior government officials and former civil servants. According to the report, the constituency has 448 current and former officers belonging to services including the IAS, IPS, IRS and ISS, in addition to film personalities.
However, not everyone associated with the film industry has chosen to keep their voter registration in Hyderabad. Actor Manchu Mohan Babu and Manchu Vishnu have reportedly decided not to retain their names on the city’s electoral rolls.
Rashmika Mandanna’s Voter Registration Is Elsewhere
One of the most notable details concerns actress Rashmika Mandanna. Although she is now closely associated with Hyderabad through her professional and personal life, her voter registration is not being retained in the city.
Rashmika, who is married to actor Vijay Deverakonda, reportedly informed officials that she had submitted her SIR enumeration form in Mumbai. This means that her name is being processed through the electoral roll revision in Maharashtra rather than Hyderabad.
The detail has attracted attention because Vijay Deverakonda is among the prominent film personalities who have chosen to retain their voter registration in Hyderabad.
Electoral Roll Revision Underway
The submission of enumeration forms is part of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The exercise is intended to verify voter information and update the electoral database.
For celebrities and other residents who have moved between cities or states, the process also provides an opportunity to establish where they wish to retain their electoral registration. Those who have shifted their voter registration to their home states will therefore no longer be part of the corresponding Hyderabad electoral roll.
The latest information indicates that the names of the film personalities who completed the process are expected to appear in the draft electoral roll scheduled for release on August 17.
Some Officials Also Move Their Registration
The revision has resulted in changes beyond the film industry. Among the civil servants associated with the Khairatabad constituency, a number have reportedly shifted their voter registration to their respective home states.
The report states that 22 IAS officers and 18 serving or former IPS officers, along with 31 officers from the ISS and IRS, have moved their voter registration outside Telangana.
The developments show how the SIR process is not merely about checking names on an electoral list but also reflects changes in where individuals maintain their official voting registration.
For Hyderabad’s film industry, however, the overwhelming decision to remain on the city’s voter rolls highlights the continued importance of the Telangana capital as the professional and residential centre for a large section of Tollywood. At the same time, Rashmika Mandanna’s registration in Mumbai stands out as a notable exception among the high-profile names associated with Hyderabad.
