Haryanvi Singer Ankit Baliyan Shot Dead Outside Gym in Shamli

Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: Haryanvi singer, actor and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan was killed in a targeted shooting outside a gym in Shamli district on Wednesday evening, August 26. The incident has sent shockwaves through the regional music community and triggered anger among his family members, supporters and local residents.

Baliyan had just completed his workout when armed attackers allegedly opened fire on him near the gym. Police said multiple assailants were involved and that a large number of rounds were fired during the attack. The singer sustained several bullet injuries and could not be saved.

Attack Took Place After Gym Session

According to the preliminary investigation, Baliyan had visited a gym in the Kotwali area of Shamli as part of his regular routine. After finishing his workout, he walked outside towards his vehicle.

It was at this point that the attackers allegedly approached and began firing. Police sources have indicated that three to four men were involved. One of his better-known songs, “Bhari Court Mein Goli Maarenge Meri Jaan,” had become particularly popular online. The track had accumulated millions of views and contributed significantly to his recognition among Haryanvi music audiences.

A social media post that surfaced after the killing allegedly claimed responsibility on behalf of the Gogi gang. The claim has attracted considerable attention because of references to Baliyan's music and alleged connections with rival groups. It should therefore not be treated as confirmation of who ordered or carried out the killing.
