Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya Appear Before Nampally Court in High-Profile Defamation Case
In a significant legal development, popular actors Nagarjuna and his son Naga Chaitanya appeared before the Nampally Court on Thursday to record their statements in a defamation case filed by Nagarjuna. The case involves Telangana Minister Konda Surekha, who had made objectionable and controversial remarks against Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, and actress Samantha.
The controversy ignited when Minister Konda Surekha accused BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao of involvement in drug-related activities and controversially linked him to the personal lives of the celebrities, including allegations affecting the marriage of Chaitanya and Samantha. She further made derogatory remarks about the Akkineni family, a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, and alleged that many female actors had their careers adversely affected due to KTR's influence in the industry.
In response to these statements, Nagarjuna filed a ₹100-crore defamation suit against the minister. The court has accepted the criminal case, marking a serious turn in the ongoing political and media drama. During the court appearance, Nagarjuna stated that the hearing of the matter is currently underway.
This case has captured widespread attention in the Telugu film industry and political circles, highlighting the intersection of cinema, politics, and personal lives.
