Suriya 46 Officially Launched: Mamitha Baiju and Raveena Tandon Join the Cast

The much-anticipated Tamil film, tentatively titled Suriya 46, has been officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. This marks the first collaboration between acclaimed actor Suriya and director Venky Atluri. The event was graced by director Trivikram Srinivas, who gave the inaugural clap, signaling the commencement of the project.

A Stellar Cast

Emerging Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju has been cast as the female lead. Mamitha, who previously expressed her admiration for Suriya, referred to him as her "favourite" person. This collaboration is particularly significant for her, especially after her earlier exit from the film Vanangaan.

Adding to the excitement, veteran Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon returns to Tamil cinema after 24 years, her last appearance being in Kamal Haasan's Aalavandhan (2001). Her inclusion brings a blend of experience and star power to the ensemble.

The film also features Radikaa Sarathkumar in a significant role, further strengthening the cast lineup.

Behind the Scenes

Music for Suriya 46 will be composed by GV Prakash Kumar, marking his second collaboration with Suriya after the critically acclaimed Soorarai Pottru (2020). GV Prakash reunites with director Venky Atluri for the third time, following their work on Vaathi (2023) and Lucky Baskhar (2024).

The film is produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and is slated for a theatrical release in the summer of 2026.

Looking Ahead

Suriya's previous film, Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, received a positive response for its nostalgic elements and Suriya's performance. He is also working on Suriya 45, directed by RJ Balaji, featuring Trisha as the female lead.

Mamitha Baiju continues to make strides in the Tamil film industry, with upcoming projects including Jana Nayagan alongside Vijay, Dude with Pradeep Ranganathan, and Irandu Vaanam with Vishnu Vishal.
